class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Las odont\u00f3logas e investigadoras del grupo de Labio y Paladar Hendido, Fisiolog\u00eda Oral y Crecimiento Craneofacial \u2013CESLPH- de la Facultad de Odontolog\u00eda de la Universidad CES, publicaron una investigaci\u00f3n piloto sobre el monitoreo de la actividad cerebral en personas con mordida abierta anterior (falta de selle entre los dientes superiores e inferiores).<\/p><p>El nombre de este estudio es Brain Cortex Activity in Children With Anterior Open Bite: A Pilot Study (Actividad de la corteza cerebral en ni\u00f1os con mordida abierta anterior: un estudio piloto) y fue publicado en la revista cient\u00edfica Frontiers, que se especializa en neurociencia.<\/p><p>La docente Claudia Restrepo Serna detall\u00f3 que, si bien es un estudio piloto, es pionero en su tipo, pues no se hab\u00eda observado la mordida abierta desde el punto de vista del cerebro y su actividad, uniendo la odontolog\u00eda con la neurociencia.<\/p><p>La observaci\u00f3n de la actividad cerebral se hizo a trav\u00e9s de un electroencefalograma (estudio que detecta la actividad el\u00e9ctrica del cerebro) durante la degluci\u00f3n (paso de los alimentos de la boca al est\u00f3mago), la fonaci\u00f3n (producci\u00f3n de lenguaje) y el reposo (sue\u00f1o).<\/p><p>\u00a0\u201c<em>Encontramos que no hab\u00eda diferencias importantes en la actividad cerebral durante la degluci\u00f3n y la fonaci\u00f3n. Las diferencias fueron en el reposo, que es donde permanece el sujeto la mayor\u00eda del tiempo<\/em>\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 la investigadora Restrepo sobre uno de los resultados m\u00e1s significativos.<\/p><p>Por su parte, la odont\u00f3loga Kelly Jim\u00e9nez Orozco a\u00f1adi\u00f3 que estos resultados ampl\u00edan las fronteras de la odontolog\u00eda para que no se limite solo a lo cl\u00ednico y abre un camino amplio para en un futuro, implementar opciones terap\u00e9uticas para tratar a quienes tienen esta condici\u00f3n y que sus tratamientos de ortodoncia sean estables en el tiempo.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-435c1d01 elementor-widget elementor-widget-button\" data-id=\"435c1d01\"
